LENHARTSVILLE, PA – November 4, 2019 – Motor vehicle accidents are on the rise. Flash floods and dangerous fires affect hundreds of motorists every year. When these life-threatening situations occur, the seatbelt – one of the most important safety devices in any vehicle – can become a potential hazard.
Revolutionary safety device attaches permanently to any standard 2-inch seat belt
Self-enclosed, manually guided, childproof technology
If a seatbelt becomes locked or tightened, or if an injury or panic prevent the occupant from opening the seatbelt, every moment becomes critical until emergency response personnel arrive. Now, there is a solution. Cut N Go®, a new product designed to help drivers and passengers quickly and safely remove a seatbelt to exit a motor vehicle following an accident or emergency situation, is being launched at SEMA 2019 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV, November 5-8.
Attendees of the SEMA show can see a demonstration of Cut N Go at Booth 33236 (South Hall Upstairs). Cut N Go will also be featured in the New Product Showcase.
The Cut N Go attaches permanently to any standard two-inch seatbelt. It is a permanent, self-enclosed device that stays in place until needed. Its safety tab activates the cutting blade quickly and easily. Once removed, the device can also be used to break a car window that will not open.
“The inspiration for Cut N Go was a real-life rescue,” said Stephen Souders, inventor of Cut N Go. “In June, 2017, I saw a news report about a police officer who had to wade through water to help a woman who was trapped in her car. After watching that, I started to draw up plans for a device that would make a difference in potentially life-threatening situations.”
Cut N Go is designed to protect the automobile, truck, motorsport vehicle, utility vehicle (UTV), hot rod, military, public safety, and emergency medical technician vehicle drivers and their passengers. It can also be used for boats, kayaks, and parachute straps. Designed to be childproof yet easy to operate, Cut N Go’s blade is never seen or felt and is completely safe regardless of what the occupant of the seat is wearing. Both the blade and the window-breaking pin are manufactured with durable, high-quality material.
The Cut N Go has highlighted instructions imprinted on the side to help develop visual muscle memory each time a seatbelt is fastened. In emergency situations, this will help the user operate Cut N Go quickly and easily.
Souders, who by trade is a mobile home and modular housing salesman, has been an aspiring inventor most of his life. When the idea for Cut N Go came to him, he knew he had something special.
“I searched online for similar products, but there was nothing like Cut N Go,” said Souders. “Other commercially available seatbelt cutters are stored somewhere in the vehicle. In an emergency situation, they may not be easy to reach. Cut N Go is always accessible.”
It took Souders less than two years to obtain a patent for Cut N Go. He explained, “The difference between Cut N Go and other products is that it gives everyone in the vehicle a chance. While other seatbelt cutters can only remove one seatbelt at a time, one person can cut multiple belts at the same time with Cut N Go because it can be operated with one hand.”
